Community Media Department
The Community Media Department manages the local Government and Educational channels (Cablevision 18 & 20) which originate from within the court room of Putnam Valley Town Hall. Live programming of certain meetings are transmitted as well as playback of previously recorded programs 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The Community Media Coordinator maintains and operates all the broadcast equipment, acquires video of town meetings and events and does post production on them, programs submitted videos from the County, School and Town of Putnam Valley residents, and provides links to streaming media of Town produced video programs on sections of this website. In addition to some routine town website updates he also updates the information on the TV scroll about the programming schedules, Town notices, and cultural events within the Town. Every time video programming changes a click-able facsimile of the current TV Scroll can be viewed on this website, along with current schedules of the videos that are viewable on Channel 18 & 20, a.k.a. “The Putnam Valley Channels”. Our Town-produced programs are also archived indefinitely at The Internet Archive under the permanent Community Media collection entitled “Putnam Valley Community Television.”
To submit requests for postings on the TV Scroll, Putnam Valley residents should e-mail approximately 30 words or text to channel20 “at” putnamvalley.com. Requests should be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance. Longer lead time is preferred. If there is an event within our Town that might be worth videotaping, contact Tony at least several weeks in advance with the information. If you want to videotape the event yourself, you may submit the project after it is done to show on our local channels. Contact Tony at the phone number above for guidelines.
