GARBAGE COLLECTION RULES AND REGULATIONS
CONTAINERS
Standard size garbage containers only
NOT EXCEEDING 24” IN DIAMETER
AND 32” IN HEIGHT
36 GALLON MAXIMUM SIZE
Working handles and fitting covers are required. No bungee cords
allowed.
If your container becomes damaged it must be replaced within seven days
or it will not be returned
CANS MUST NOT EXCEED 50 POUNDS IN WEIGHT
Garbage in over-sized containers will not be picked up.
GARBAGE
All garbage must bagged in standard garbage bags and in a covered
container.
All garbage must be curbside by 7:00am
RECYCLING SCHEDULE
Routes 1 & 2
Co-mingled Recyclables, Newspapers, and Mixed Paper will be picked up on
THURSDAYS
(If short handed with manpower, recycling will also be picked up on
Friday)
RECYCLING REGULATIONS
Plastic, Metal and Glass:
Collected together in clearly marked recycling containers and put
curbside by 7:00am
Newspapers, flattened cardboard, magazines, junk mail:
bundled and tied with cotton string and put curbside by 7:00am
Recycling must not be put out before 7pm on the proceeding night
RECYCLING IN PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE PICKED UP

*NO Auto parts
(including tires & batteries)
*NO building materials
(including windows, cabinets, doors, boilers, furnaces, oil tanks or
wood stoves)
*NO leaves or brush
*NO computer monitors or TVs
Limit of ONE MAJOR appliance per household
There is a $25.00 fee for any appliance containing FREON
(refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, dehumidifier) payable in
advance to the District Clerk
Bulk items MUST BE OUT ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE PICK UP ON YOUR ROUTE BY
7:00 AM
ITEMS PUT OUT AFTER THAT FIRST DAY WILL NOT BE PICKED UP |

ALL boats in Lake
Peekskill must have TWO BOAT TAGS
Boat tags can be picked up at Town Hall in the District
Office. Proof of residency must be shown.
Please keep your boats stored face down and free of standing
water.
Please lock the gate to the boat ramp upon entering and
leaving.
BOATS WITHOUT TAGS WILL BE REMOVED
