The Town of Putnam Valley Highway Department suggests that:
1. When the weather is bad, leave extra time to reach your destination, drive slowly!
2. Watch out for black ice when frost develops overnight.
3. Make sure that your tires are in good shape. Snow tires are the best for all weather conditions.
The highway department now has new computerized salt trucks, which will be working in the salt sensitive areas around the lakes.
